Children's Ministry
Nursery and Children's Church
A nursery and children's church are available during morning worship service. During Children's Church, children are engaged in bible stories for kids as well as crafts and games to reinforce the bible lesson. At Antioch UMC, we want you to be comfortable in your experience here so if you prefer to keep your children in church or go to Children's church; You and your family can decide which you prefer.
Sunday School
Elementary School aged children, kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to Sunday School at 10:00am in the Truslow Hall. Our Sunday School teacher, Robby Hulsey leads the children in a bible lesson with activities.
Acolytes
Acolytes is a ministry to children in elementary school. They meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesday's at 4:00 pm. During Acolytes, kids enjoy snacks and games as well as exploring the Bible, learning about the christian year, age appropriate theology, and better understand the "nuts and bolts" that are behind the worship service.
Safe Santuary
Antioch UMC believes that the spiritual, emotional and physical well being of our children, youth and vulnerable adults is imperative. We must do all we can to nurture and protect our children, youth and vulnerable adults. This policy is intended to provide a guide for that protection, as well as the protection of our adult workers and the church. This policy is enacted to insure that the parents, members, volunteers and staff of Antioch UMC have a clear understanding of what the policies and procedures are regarding the safety of our children, youth and vulnerable adults. Since safety is a top priority, at least one primary worker shall be trained in both First Aid and CPR and shall be present at every event.
