Antioch United Methodist Church wants you to meet our pastor.
Randy Strickland and Evelyn Strickland
Our pastor Randy Strickland and his wife Evelyn came to Antioch United Methodist Church in June 2008. Randy is a native Gainesvillian having grown up in the New Holland Community. After graduating from East Hall High School Randy earned his Bachelor and Master degrees from Mercer University. He also did doctoral studies at Erskine Techological Seminary in Due West South Carolina where he focused on Worship and Preaching. He is an Elder in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Antioch UMC is Randy's first appointment in his hometown of Gainesville, GA. He and Evelyn are excited to be living in Hall County again after being away for over twenty years. Their son, Chris, daughter-in-law, Kelleigh and two granddaughters, Emmaleigh and Ella Margaret live close by. Randy and Evelyn's mothers and several other members of their families also live in the Hall County area. Randy says, "It is good to be home again with family, old friends, and the new ones we are making each day."
Since coming to Antioch United Methodist Church, Randy has become involved in community work through Action Ministries - Gainesville, the Gainesville District of the United Methodist Church, and the Gainesville Aid Project (GAP), a ministry hosted by Antioch UMC.
