Antioch Family,
Upon speaking with medical and legal experts, the Bishop and her cabinet have determined it would be unsafe for us to gather in the sanctuary before June 22, 2020. This is the date some models predict Georgia can safely relax our shelter-at-home strategies. As always, be of good courage, and stay tuned for further updates! W. Antioch Family, I trust this mid-week message finds you in good health… physically, emotionally, and spiritually! I’ve been saying this for the past few weeks, but it bears repeating: these are difficult times, indeed! With that in mind, I am confident we’ll continue to shine as God’s ambassadors here at Antioch, persevering and even thriving in the knowledge that He is still in control. Like most of you, I am receiving quite a few emails these days. Naturally, some of them contain messages of caution and doom, while others, the more welcome ones of course, offer glimpses of hope and encouragement that help get us through the day. With that in mind, I got an email earlier this week from one of our members, asking me to pass along a devotion she’d received from a retired Methodist pastor named Dr. Jerry Stone. I found it very uplifting, and I hope you will too. Stay safe, and be of good courage, mindful that this is still only temporary. And, while it is difficult to imagine us “sheltering-in-place” for another thirty days, take solace in the fact that we’ll probably never take our time “together” for granted again! Finally, focus on your relationship with God and family! And, pray for one another, keeping these folks in mind: Lee Hudson Family of Nancy and Doug Hulsey Lisa Ferraro- (Miriam’s sister) Irene Powers W. David Lee Pastor Antioch UMC |
