We are preparing for our Fall for Fun Festival (formerly Trunk or Treat), coming up next week here at Gainesville First. This is our biggest outreach event of the entire year and a lot of people will be here on our campus, some of which may have never stepped foot even in the parking lot of a church. This is a great opportunity for us to be the hands and feet of Jesus. To show our community the love of Jesus Christ.
But to do that, we need your help! We have several volunteer spots we need covered. Take a look at the list below and sign up for something if you are available. Breaks will be given throughout the night, and free hotdogs and Kona ice! (who can say no to Kona Ice?!)
Fall for Fun Festival is Wednesday, October 30 / 6-8pm / Parking Lot
If you are unable to help the night of Fall for Fun but still want to help some way you can shop our Amazon wish list for prizes to be given out that night. You can also drop off big bags of candy you pick up from the store into the bins located around the church.
Thank you so much! Please let me know if you have any questions, I’d be happy to help!

Antioch United Methodist Church was organized sometime between 1812 and 1815. The first building was located in an area called the "Fork District."
Sometime in the 1820's a log structure was built on the west side of the present cemetery. It was named "Antioch" and used until 1846.
A new church was constructed because of increased membership and growth. It had two doors, one for the men, and one for the women. This building was in use approximately 120 years.
Again it became necessary to enlarge the building because of growth, so the present structure was completed in 1968. Truslow hall was completed in 1980 under the leadership of Marion Truslow, an Architect and Builder. Upon completion it was dedicated in his honor.
Please join us at Don Carter State Park for a load of Famly Fun! Festivities will begin at 3:00pm. Activities include swimming, fishing, walking, hiking, and corn hole, or just come and enjoy some relaxing time with family and friends. A picnic shelter has been reserved, and we will provide hamburgers and hotdogs. Plans are to eat dinner around 6:00pm. Please sign up in the church narthex or by emailing Emily Hulsey so we have an idea of how many to expect. There is also a sign up list for food for the cook out. The shelter has 8 picnic tables, but you might want to bring a chair. There is a $5 parking fee for each vehicle. If you have questions, please ask Emily Hulsey, Nancy Hulsey, or David Lee. Hope to see everyone there!!
If you would like to support our continued outreach to Sardis Elementary School they have requested items for teachers and staff. These are things not usually funded by the school system. Clorox wipes for cleaning the computer lab between classes, small cups, cotton balls, latex-free Band-aids and Calamine lotion for the school clinic, fragrance spray for bathrooms, and paper towels. Just leave items in the narthex and they will be delivered after school starts.
